Gaining Perspective at Monique Meloche Gallery

Monique Meloche Gallery presents Gaining Perspective. For this exhibition, Carla Arocha and Stéphane Schraenen are dissecting the space by placing two distinct works that will demand various perspectives: understanding of depth and ultimately expectations of embedded characteristics of an exhibition space.

An ongoing interest in space and architecture has naturally led Carla Arocha and Stéphane Schraenen to address the physical space at Monique Meloche Gallery, therefore destabilising perception. One may have a subconscious expectation of how a space is configured, especially one who may not be a first-time visitor.

For this exhibition, the gallery architecture is minimally intervened with for maximum effect, in the hope that the viewer questions what one sees before drawing a conclusion.
